Planktonweed Tape is the first album by the German rapper SpongeBOZZ . It was released on April 17, 2015 via the independent label Bikini Bottom Mafia . It reached the top of the German and Austrian album charts and number 3 in Switzerland.
background
In 2013, SpongeBOZZ uploaded a video saying the Planktonweed EP was coming. In 2014 SpongeBOZZ published the freesong John F. Kennedy on his official YouTube channel SpongeBozzTV and announced on his Facebook page that this was a track from the Planktonweed EP. In the same year he announced that he would take even more time for the album and that the EP would become a complete tape. The album was postponed several times, initially scheduled for February 2015, and finally it was released on April 17th, 2015. At the end of April 2015, it became known that the Federal Inspectorate for Media Harmful to Young People was about to make a decision about indexing the album. The reason for this should be the song ACAB contained on the album . On September 30, 2015, the album was finally added to the list of indexed carrier media.

Versions
The planktonweed tape appeared in several versions. The standard edition with all 16 songs, the God of Battle edition with the 16 tracks together with the KAMPFANSAGE, the so-called Kingfinale of the July BlogBattles and the song God of Battle with instrumentals and the instrumentals of the 16 songs to which there was There was also the limited “Sponge Connection Box”, which contained the God-of-Battle-Edition, as well as a poster, a T-shirt, a printed autograph card, a lighter and drug consumption accessories.

The plankton weed tape was received very negatively by critics.
The Laut.de e-zine awarded just one of a total of five points. According to the editor Philipp Kopka, the artist tries desperately "... to set up new rhyme records" , which would "... at the expense of listening pleasure" and "... content and entertainment value instead" . Since SpongeBOZZ next to those rhymes "... has no recognition value" he sinks into the "... sea of irrelevance." .
