The Planpraz (also Plan-praz) is a mountain located west of the Chamonix Valley and the mountain in front of the Brevent in the Aiguilles Rouges mountain range with a height of 2000 meters. There are several ski areas on the Planpraz.
From Chamonix you can reach Planpraz with a gondola lift . Originally, it was a concrete pillar cable car that opened in the 1920s. It was converted into a gondola lift in 1979, but the concrete pillars were retained. A complete renovation took place in 2008. The Chamonix-Planpraz section reopened on December 20, 2008. In May 2012 the old pillars of the original cable car were removed. In a second section, a cable car connects Planpraz with the summit of Brévent .

The Grand Balcon Sud describes a hiking trail from Planpraz to Flégère, which offers a unique panoramic view of the Mont Blanc massif .
