The Brévent is a mountain with a height of 2525 meters at the southern end of the Aiguilles Rouges massif in the French department of Haute-Savoie . Despite its relatively low altitude, it is very popular with hikers for its location above the Arve valley and the panoramic view of Mont Blanc .

It has been accessible by cable car since 1930, making it a kind of local mountain in Chamonix. A cable car takes you from Chamonix to the Planpraz intermediate station, from where you can take a cable car to the summit of Brévent. This ski area is one of the closest to the center of Chamonix. Below the summit is Lake Brevent (Lac du Brevent).

The mountain is also a starting point for paragliders and wingsuiters .
