The Plateau Rosa is a glacier field on the Swiss-Italian border near Zermatt . It is located at 3480 m and is part of the Theodul Glacier , which is part of the Zermatt ski area. The Plateau Rosa can be reached from Breuil-Cervinia , which is in Italy , with a cable car via the Testa Grigia station above the Theodul Pass . From Zermatt you can reach the Plateau Rosa via Trockener Steg either with the Klein Matterhorn cable car or with the Gandegg tow lift .
