The Platja de Son Serra de Marina is a sandy beach on the Bay of Alcúdia on the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located in the north of the municipality of Santa Margalida and borders the eastern part of Son Serra de Marina to the Mediterranean Sea.
Location and description
The Platja de Son Serra de Marina limits the eastern part of Son Serra de Marina to the sea. It ends to the west on a rocky stretch of coast and the subsequent marina of Son Serra de Marina . To the east, the torrente (torrent) Torrent de na Borges closes the beach. Further west is S'Arenal de Sa Canova beach .
The beach of Son Serra de Marina consists of a wide strip of coarser, brown sand. At the border with the water, the subsoil changes to a mixture of smaller stones. For Carrer Juan Frontera Riera out of the street just behind the beach, reeds growing. The water depth in front of the beach is shallow, skippers are advised to avoid the area as there is a high risk of bruising. The Torrent de na Borges on the eastern edge of the beach has no water in the dry season and allows easy access to S'Arenal de Sa Canova .
Seaweed is partially deposited on the shore, which makes access to the water difficult.
Access
The beach is accessible from Carrer Juan Frontera Riera 1-35 in Son Serra de Marina. On the eastern edge of Son Serra de Marina, on Carrer na Borges, there is a free car park with level access to the beach.
