Placement volume

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The placement volume (also issue volume ) is the multiplicative product of the issue price and the number of shares issued in the event of an IPO or a capital increase .

backgrounds

The issue price must not be equated with the price at which the shares are traded for the first time, as the latter is usually above the issue price. This is the result of the bookbuilding process, in which a price range is first determined, from which a fixed issue price is then derived at the end (the price at which the first investors can subscribe to the share).

Based on the placement volume, part of the remuneration of the investment banks that plan, supervise, support and implement the IPO as part of the syndicated business is also tied .
