Playas de Castellón Fútbol Sala is a Spanish futsal club from Castellón de la Plana . The club currently plays in the División de Honor de Fútbol Sala , the top division in the country. Playas de Castellón experienced its most successful period between 2000 and 2003, when it won the Spanish championship twice and the UEFA Futsal Cup as often .

history

Playas de Castellón was founded in 1983 by workers from the Macer company, as Club Macer FS , in the small town of Almazora . After various regional successes, and the promotion to the first division in 1989, the club finally moved to the provincial capital Castellón de la Plana in 1994 , and took the current club name Playas de Castellón. The club celebrated its first championship title in the 1999/00 season and successfully defended it the following year. That entitles them to participate in the first UEFA Futsal Cup , which they won with a 5-1 win in the final against Belgian Action 21 Charleroi . As the defending champion, they were also represented in the highest European tournament of the 2002/03 season, and were able to win the trophy again in a new edition of the final, this time by 1-1 in the away game and 6: 4 in Castellón.
