The Plaza Garibaldi ( Garibaldi Square ) located in the northern center of Mexico City . A subway station is named after her.

It is known for the fact that mariachis ( Mexican folk musicians) in traditional costume and with traditional instruments gather there. They offer their services to the visitors who sit in front of the surrounding bars.

The Plaza Garibaldi is named after Giuseppe Garibaldi Junior , the grandson of the Italian national hero Giuseppe Garibaldi . At the beginning of the Mexican Revolution he fought with Pancho Villa for Francisco Madero .

To the east, adjacent to the Plaza Garibaldi, in the pedestrian zone of the street “República de Honduras” is the “Paseo de los Ídolos de la Música Mexicana” (meaning: mile of fame of the idols of Mexican music) with ten statues of popular Mexican musicians and composers of the 20th century: José Ángel Espinoza “Ferrusquilla” (1919–2015), Juan Gabriel (1950–2016), Pedro Infante (1917–1957), Cirilo Marmolejo (1890–1960), Tomás Méndez (1926–1995), María de Lourdes (1939–1997), Javier Solís (1931–1966), Lola Beltrán (1932–1996), José Alfredo Jiménez (1926–1973) and Manuel Esperón (1911–2011).
