former Pluwigerhammer station

The Pluwiger Hammer monument zone near Pluwig in the Trier-Saarburg district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a former iron smelter and hammer mill with a grinding and saw mill ; with a ditch system, residential house, bakery and factory buildings, a garden adjoining to the south and the farmland from the early 19th century above the Mühlgraben.

The preserved buildings of the complex and their arrangement to the functioning ditch system convey the production method and the still baroque system scheme.

The Pluwiger Hammer district also includes the streets and buildings to the left and right of the Ruwer , some of which belong to Pluwig and some to Schöndorf , including the former Pluwig train station with the former Pluwigerhammer Hochwaldbahn station , where the Ruwer-Hochwald cycle path runs today .
