The Pocomchí language , also Poqomchi or Poqomchí, is the language of the indigenous people of the Pocomchí in Guatemala and, with almost a hundred thousand speakers, is one of the larger Mayan languages .

distribution

The Pocomchí language is spoken in the Alta Verapaz , Baja Verapaz and El Quiché departments .

In the 2002 census, 92,941 people (0.9%) said Poqomchí as their mother tongue; 114,423 (1.0%) called themselves Poqomchí .
