The Pohang Jecheol High School is a private university in South Korea . The university is located in Pohang . The school is operated by the POSCO company. From its inception until 2001 it was a state-run organization and since 2002 it has been a private organization of POSCO.
The name "Jecheol" means "steel" in Korean and refers to the POSCO company. POSCO facilities always have the designation "Jecheol" in their name. The university currently has 1,278 students who are taught by 115 teachers.
The university has normal school subjects, but has a football department in cooperation with Pohang Steelers .
On November 26, 1980, Pohang City approved the establishment of this school. The college was inaugurated on March 1, 1981, and five days later it was officially opened. On February 9, 1984, 113 students graduated for the first time. On October 20, 2001, the university passed from state to private hands. On February 22, 2013, the university founded a football department with the aim of training young players. She has since cooperated with Pohang Steelers and trains her youth players.
