The Point Casco (from Spanish casco , helmet ' ) is a headland in the south of Deception Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located northwest of Mount Kirkwood on the shores of Crater Lake and was formed in 1960 as a result of volcanic activity in the 1960s.
According to the SCAR , the name was given by Russian scientists. However, it is very likely that this was done by Argentine scientists.
