The Pointe Irène is a headland on the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is a northern branch of Cape Géodésie west of the Astrolabe Glacier .
Georges Schwartz (* 1920), participant in a French Antarctic expedition (1951–1952), named her after the first name of a dancer who, like himself , had belonged to the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo .
