Polar X-plorer is a steel roller coaster in the Danish amusement park Legoland Billund .

The Polar X-plorer is an " Elevated Seating Coaster " from the manufacturer Zierer Rides . The track has a length of 498 meters and a height of 19 meters and was opened on April 29, 2012 in the newly opened 12,500 m² themed area “Polar Land”. It has a vertical drop element , which was also developed and built by the Zierer company and was delivered for the first time with this lift. In order to be able to ride along, passengers must be at least 1.20 meters tall. Children between 1.20 meters and 1.30 meters are only allowed to ride when accompanied by an adult.

A 16.5 meter high artificial rock mass was created for the railway. The roller coaster track is gray and the roller coaster supports are brown. The roller coaster station was themed as a polar station and the trains are designed in a snowmobile look. Halfway along the route is the 15-meter-high Vertical Drop Element , where the train first stops and shortly afterwards falls from a height of five meters. The train then rolls past polar animals made of Lego bricks and real penguins back towards the polar station.

The Polar X-Plorer became known through a documentary on the TV show Adventure Life at Kabel Eins , who accompanied the construction of the new roller coaster at Legoland Billund in Denmark .

Trains

The Polar X-plorer has two trains with eight cars each. There are a total of two seats in one row of seats per car, i.e. 16 seats in eight rows of seats per train.

Awards

The Polar X-plorer took third place at the European Star Award 2012 in the category “Europe's Best New Rides 2012”.
