Policy Exchange is a British think tank, based in London , affiliated with the Conservative Party . The chairman is the journalist Charles Moore.

history

Policy Exchange was founded in 2002 by Nicholas Boles , to this day director of Policy Exchange, and Times columnist Michael Gove , who is now a member of the House of Commons from Surrey Heath for the British Conservative Party.

In the short period of its existence, Policy Exchange was able to win several prizes at the “Think Tank of the Year Awards” organized by the political magazine Prospect : 2004 as Newcomer-Think Thank (“the one to watch”), 2005 for that of Alan W. Evans and Oliver Marc Hartwich wrote the pamphlet Unaffordable Housing - Fables and Myths and 2006 Think Tank of the Year award.

Policy Exchange is close to the Conservative Party headed by party leader David Cameron, who was elected at the end of 2005 . David Cameron himself began his bid for Conservative Chairmanship with two speeches at Policy Exchange . A number of personal relationships exist between the Policy Exchange and the UK Conservatives. Nicholas Boles narrowly failed his candidacy for the Brighton & Hove constituency in the 2005 general election. Jesse Norman is a Senior Research Fellow at Policy Exchange and is a constituency candidate in the next general election. Roger Gough is a Research Director at Policy Exchange and a councilor for Kent County Council.

Politically, Policy Exchange stands for a mixture of the concept of “compassionate conservatism” in domestic policy (the title of a publication by the institute) and elements of neoconservatism in foreign policy.
