Career

Maxeiner began his journalistic career at Motor Presse in Stuttgart . He then worked as an editor for Stern magazine and as editor-in-chief of the Paris city magazine Pariser Luft . He later developed and directed the environmental magazine opportunities . From 1989 to 1993 Maxeiner was editor-in-chief of the environmental magazine Natur . Since then he has worked as a freelance journalist for numerous media in Germany and Europe.

Fields of activity

His work focuses on topics from science , ecology and politics . Several of his publications also deal with motorsport . Maxeiner's articles have appeared in numerous newspapers, journals and magazines, as well as on the radio. Together with Michael Miersch , he writes a weekly column for the daily newspaper Die Welt and wrote several non-fiction books on political and ecological topics.

Maxeiner is the editorial staff of the Swiss weekly magazine Die Weltwoche . He is also the managing director and regular author of the weblog The Axis of the Good .

Books and statements

Maxeiner opposes the scientific consensus on global warming , which he accuses of "hysterical" handling of environmental problems (" alarmism "). In his opinion, this leads to the formation of myths , which are then made the basis of political decisions (“ ecologism ”). Maxeiner and Miersch point to an alleged " stagnation in world temperature for over 17 years" and claim that a change in solar activity has been the cause of warming since the middle of the last century. In a publication by the Federal Environment Agency, Maxeiner was therefore described as a “ climate change skeptic ” who contradicted a scientific consensus . A lawsuit by Maxeiner on the other hand was dismissed by the administrative court in November 2015 because the statements of the Federal Environment Agency were "factual, not falsifying and not excessive". Maxeiner received support from Henryk M. Broder , among others , with whom he jointly publishes the weblog The Axis of the Good .
