Simon Jenkins
Sir Simon Jenkins (born June 10, 1943 ) is an English journalist and columnist who currently works for the Guardian . Before Jenkins was 15 years for various newspapers of News International - publishing business. He studied at St. John's College , Oxford .
Among many other awards (. Eg Journalist of the Year 1988 Columnist of the Year 1993), Jenkins, 2004 in recognition of his services to journalism as a former Times - publisher of the British Queen Elizabeth II. To Knight Bachelor beaten.
He was married to actress Gayle Hunnicutt from 1978-2008 . They have two sons, Nolan Hemmings and his stepbrother, who is from Hunnicutt's previous marriage to David Hemmings .
Professional background
Jenkins began his journalistic career with Country Life magazine, then moved to the Times Educational Supplement , Evening Standard and The Sunday Times . From 1976 to 1978 he was an editor at the London Evening Standard , then politics editor for The Economist magazine (1979-86). Jenkins was the editor of The Times from 1990-92 after founding and heading the Sunday Times' literary section . On January 28, 2005, Jenkins announced that he would be leaving The Times and, after a writing hiatus, working for the Guardian in the future .
Since May 2005 writes Jenkins posts for The Huffington Post - blog .
