The Poliedro de Caracas ( Polyhedron -Arena-Caracas) is a multi-purpose hall in Caracas , Venezuela .

history

The arena was designed by the American architect Thomas C. Howard of Synergetics, Inc. from Raleigh , North Carolina and opened on March 26, 1974. The hall offers space for more than 20,000 spectators and is mainly used for sporting events in the disciplines of ice hockey , basketball , volleyball and boxing . Even circuses and car shows were already held in the hall. The 2013 American Basketball Championship was held here. Many concerts have also taken place here. Artists like Eric Clapton ( Reptile World Tour ) or Queen (The Game Tour) have performed here .
