Polina Nikolajewna Kowaljowa ( Russian Полина Николаевна Ковалёва ; born July 2, 1993 ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Since 2008, Kowaljowa has mainly participated in the Eastern Europe Cup . So far she has been in the top ten seven times. In February 2011 she took 44th place over 5 km freestyle and 11th place in sprint at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Liberec . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec, she was sixth in the sprint. She ran her first World Cup race in February 2013 in Sochi , which she finished in 50th place. At the U23 World Championships 2015 in Almaty , she finished 16th in the sprint. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season she got her first World Cup points at the Nordic Opening in Ruka with 26th place in the sprint stage. In February 2016 she achieved her best result of the season in the World Cup with 15th place in the sprint in Drammen . The following month, she finished 45th in the Ski Tour Canada .
