Polissoir du Bois de la Charmille
The Polissoir du Bois de la Charmille is a sandstone slab flush with the ground with grooves . It is located on the edge of the forest northeast of Villeconin , in the middle of the Essonne department in France .
The polissoir is about 1.7 m long and 1.5 m wide. It has nine almost parallel vertical polishing grooves, a polished surface with four concave zones, including an enlarged groove and three polished elongated shells. The grooves were partially damaged.
The polissoir has been classified as a monument historique since 1899 .
