Police chief
A police leader ( PF ) is the professional function of a high-ranking manager in the German police in a police operation who leads a large number of police units in a situation.
PF are law enforcement officers with management and control functions including the authority to issue instructions to the emergency services they report. In the structure of a special organizational structure (BAO), the PF is hierarchically the highest function holder.
PF are predominantly members of the higher police force (also a police chief ) and hand over their original tasks for this time to a representative , excluding the personal union.
PF are always used when large-scale operations or full exercises are to be carried out; Further details are regulated in PDV No. 100.
Particularly important locations with a very large amount of forces, e.g. As the first of May in Berlin-Kreuzberg , are by a total police leaders perceived the other PF are assumed.
There are also police officers on duty (PvD) who are responsible for the general police service during their service time in a specific service district and who lead and coordinate operations. They usually work in the operations center. In larger districts, there is sometimes a PvD for criminal police tasks and a second for protection police use. PvD are members of the higher or higher service, depending on their area of responsibility.
Demarcation
People who regularly run a police association (including department leaders , Hundreds leaders , platoon leaders or command leaders) are not PF.
In (larger) police operations , PFs are always also operational leaders , but not originally responsible for individual operations.
SS and police leaders
At the time of National Socialism , “ SS and Police Leaders ” (SSPF) were named who were subordinate to or belong to the Schutzstaffel and not the police. Nevertheless, they also led the police forces in their district. They were also used in combat units of the Wehrmacht to secure the combat rooms and other tasks.
