Polish Bank , Polski Pachuck , fundamentally honest , English: Polish Red Dog or Stitch , is a game of chance with cards (→ Mauscheln ) similar to pile-up .

The rules

The game is played with a pack of 52-sheet French playing cards . The ace is considered the highest card, the two the lowest.

At the beginning of a game, the banker puts an agreed fixed amount on the table in front of him as a bank sum. The other players now bet against it, the sum of the bets of the opponents must not exceed half of the amount in the bank.

The banker shuffles, lets withdraw and first lays one card face up on the table in front of him, the next three cards apply to the opponents: can they stab the banker's card , i. H. If there is a card of the same suit and higher rank than the bank card among the three cards of the punchers , the opponents win at a ratio of 2: 1.

If the opponents cannot prick the banker's card, the banker collects the stakes, which increases the bank amount. However, the banker may not withdraw any profits from the bank unless he surrenders the bank.

If the bank is broken , d. H. if there is no more money in the bank, the banker must hand over the bank and the player to his left becomes the next banker.

If the bank total is at least three times the original deposit after a game , the banker may hold the bank for one last round of winning : After this game , the banker must in any case hand the bank over to his left neighbor. If the bank is not broken after this round, the amount in the bank naturally belongs to the donating banker.

Probability of winning and bank advantage

The punchers win with a probability of 30.38%, the banker with a probability of 69.62%. Due to the payout ratio of 2: 1, this results in a bank advantage of 8.85%.

If a package with only 32 hands is used instead of the full game, the probability of winning for the punchers is 29.55% and that of the banker is 70.45%; the bank advantage increases to 11.35%.
