Polskie Radio Katowice

Polskie Radio Katowice is a regional public radio broadcaster of Polskie Radio for the Silesian Voivodeship based in Katowice .

The transmitter started in 1927 with its program on medium wave 759 kHz with 12 kW transmission power. In 1937 Radio Katowice moved into its new building. In 1939 the transmission system became the secondary transmitter Katowice (1231 kHz) of the Reich broadcaster Breslau.

In 1998 the Radio Katowice building was expanded. In 2005 the new studio for concerts was opened.

Polskie Radio Katowice has local editorial offices in Częstochowa , Bielsko-Biała , Zawiercie and Gliwice . Polskie Radio Katowice has a recording studio and also publishes records.
