Polvo

Polvo is an American math rock band formed in Chapel Hill in 1990 .

At the beginning the band consisted of the singers and guitarists Ash Bowie and Dave Brylawski, the bassist Steve Popson and the drummer Eddie Watkins. They became known in the local scene as a live band and in 1991 released the double 7 " Can I Ride on the Kitchen Puff label , which was re-released in 1996 under the title Polvo . In 1992 they released their first album called Merge on the local indie label Cor-Crane Secret . Then they toured with Babes in Toyland and Superchunk . 1993 came out their second album Today's Active Lifestyles and the next year and the next year the EPs Celebrate the New Dark Age and This Eclipse . 1996 they released on the Chicago label Touch & Go the album Exploded Drawing, then the band members drifted apart and the band split up after the release of Shapes in 1997. In 2008 they reunited and a year later the album In Prism was released on Merge .
