Panevėžys Polytechnic

The Panevėžys Polytechnic (lit. Panevėžio politechnikumas ) was a state vocational school with general education (a polytechnic ) from 1960 to 1991 in Panevėžys , Lithuania . There were 1,500 students and 70 employees, up to 400 graduates annually.

history

In 1960 the technical center began its activity in the building of the Panevėžys Teachers' College . The first director was Pranas Pranaitis. In 1961, the evening department of Kauno politechnikos institutas (now the Panevėžys Institute of Kaunas Technical University ) was established in the Politechnikum . In 1967 the sports hall, the first and in 1990 the new modern dormitory with 12 floors and 350 living spaces was built. The Polytechnic had a total of 8035 graduates. In 1991 it became the Panevėžys Higher Technical School, and in 2002 it was reorganized into the Faculty of Business Administration and Technologies of Panevėžio Kolegija .
