A bunker ruin of the Pomeranian position near Deutsch-Krone (Polish Wałcz)

The Pommernwall ( Pommern-position or Pommernlinie ) was a line of fortifications laid out from 1932 to 1945 in Pomerania from Landsberg an der Warthe to around Stolpmünde .

After the First World War, Germany began preparations to build the fortifications along the new border with Poland established by the Treaty of Versailles . In 1932 work began with the construction of concrete fortified positions similar to the fortress front Oder-Warthe-Bogen, taking advantage of the lake landscape. In Neustettin of construction in 1934 was started. Here and at Deutsch Krone were the planned key points (operation corridors) of the fortified line. In 1934 a section of the Pomeranian Wall between Vilmsee (now Jezioro Wielimie ) and Dolgensee was built. After the start of the war, work was stopped. No further work was carried out until around July 1944 to January 1945.

Due to the rapid advance of the Red Army , there was no scheduled occupation in this position either. Only parts of the facility were occupied and were bypassed or completely ignored by the advancing units of the Red Army. H. Cut off from the environment, but not attacked.
