Ponts mégalithiques in Artannes-sur-Thouet
The Ponts mégalithiques in Artannes-sur-Thouet ( German "Großsteinbrücken in Artannes-sur-Thouet" ) are located in the municipality of Artannes-sur-Thouet in the Maine-et-Loire department in France .
location
To the east of the village, the Fossé d'Artannes , a branch of the Thouet , which forms the island of Artannes, is spanned by two - very likely medieval - stone slab bridges.
- The first, at the end of the village ( location ), consists of two blocks about 6.0 and 4.0 m long and about 1 m wide, which rest on a central pillar and two supports ( bridgehead ). The stones come from Verrie , a village more than 10 km away on the other side of the Loire.
- The second bridge ( Lage ), near the hamlet of La Motte , also consists of two slabs that rest on a central pillar and two lateral supports.
