The PONY magazine was a free culture and city magazine in A5 format. The magazine was published in A6 format until November 2011. It was published by PONY.medien-Verlag. The magazine has been published monthly in Göttingen since 2005 and its texts clearly, but by no means exclusively, referred to the city and its cultural landscape. The PONY was available in selected cafés, bars, clubs, retail stores, etc. There was also a larger-format PDF version on the Internet.

The editorial team and authors mainly worked on topics from pop culture . The self-image of the magazine was leftist, the reporting saw itself as critical and open-minded. Event notices with a tip-off character and an appointment calendar with the most important events in the city of Göttingen were mandatory in the PONY. In the PONY there were longer articles with an open cut; There were also essays , features, reports , interviews and a column . In addition, there were fixed categories with reviews from the areas of theater, books, cinema, digital, games and sound carriers.

Twice a year the PONY organized a bigger party in Göttingen with changing DJs and live acts. Michael Saager has been the editor-in-chief since the magazine was founded; Ronald Weller was responsible for the layout.
