Pope Island is an uninhabited island in the northern part of the King Sound , an Australian coastal body of water in the Indian Ocean . It belongs to the Kimberley region in the Australian state of Western Australia .
The island is 550 meters long and 210 meters wide. It is approximately 6.2 kilometers from mainland Australia.
The island is the third westernmost island in a five-kilometer chain of islands. The name of the western neighbor island is Kessel Island , the eastern neighbor island is called Whipp Island .
