Poppo († 1014/18) was abbot of Lorsch and Fulda .
Live and act
From the Frankish Babenberg family, also called " Popponen ", son of Count Otto II. (999/1008). He was abbot in Lorsch from 1006 to 1018 and abbot in Fulda from 1013/14 to 1018. He carried out the cluniac-Lorraine monastery reform in Lorsch and was therefore called to Fulda by King Heinrich II on June 1, 1014 to join the to reform the monasteries there in Hersfeld and Fulda against secularization and effeminacy in the spirit of Cluny .
