The Porphyry Bluff is a striking rock cliff at the Nordenskjöld Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 3 km inland between the banks of Larsen Inlet and Longing Gap .
Measurements by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) from 1960 to 1961 were used to map it . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1964 after the yellow-brown, quartz- and feldspar- containing porphyry rock from which it is made.
