Port Deauville

Port Deauville is the younger of the two marinas in the western French seaside resort of Deauville in the Calvados department ( Normandy region ).

The private port was created after the capacity of the two basins of the urban Vieux Port de Deauville (German: Old Port) could no longer meet the demand for berths, in the years from 1973 to 1975. It includes one designed by the architect Jacques Labro and Jean-Jacques Orzini realized a property complex with exclusive second homes and holiday apartments tailored to the weekend. This shows the style typical of the team of architects, which has already been tried and tested in Avoriaz ( Alps ), which is characterized, among other things, by its adaptation to the natural environment and the cladding of the façades with untreated wooden shingles.

While the center of the seaside resort, which is only a two- hour drive from Paris, is very busy all year round, especially on the weekends, the attraction of the residential area of Port-Deauville lies in its quiet location, only separated from the beach by a narrow canal.

location

In contrast to the Vieux Port, which is hidden in a bay, Port Deauville was created directly on the coast of the English Channel . The flooded harbor basin is protected by a pier .
