Portal Tomb from Kilrooskagh
The Kilrooskagh Portal Tomb is located on a small plateau on the southwest slope of a hill overlooking Lough Macnean Upper, about 200 meters north of the Belcoo to Garrison road in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland . In the British Isles, portal tombs are megalithic systems in which two equally high, upright stones with a door stone in between form the front of a chamber, which is covered with a sometimes huge capstone.
The Portal Tomb consists of a chamber covered by a massive limestone capstone . It is 4.75 m long, lies on the two fallen portal stones, which are about 3.0 and 2.0 m long. Inside the chamber, the floor is covered with loose chips and a small stone in the northwest lies under the inner edge of the capstone.
