Portals Nous is a place on the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . The place is located in the southwest of the island, in the region of Pariatge and is located directly on the sea. It belongs to the municipality of Calvià and had 2676 inhabitants in 2011.

With 1534 beds for guests in 2010, Portals Nous is one of the smaller holiday resorts on Mallorca. The place itself has a mixed structure and is mainly inhabited by Spanish, British, German and Swedish residents. The port of Puerto Portals is located below the town. This was built in 1986 and will be expanded by 2020. This includes the Marina Portals promenade with exclusive shops and restaurants and an underground car park.
Beach
The beach of Portals Nous, the Platja de l'Oratori , is located in a rocky bay, which is bordered by the pier on one side and by a rocky outcrop on the other. On the rock above the beach there is a viewing platform with an overview of the neighboring bays.
Approx. 300 meters away from the beach there is an approximately 100 meters wide nameless rock island. Due to the offshore island, there is a slight swell in the middle area of the beach, which allows even average swimmers to swim longer in the sea or to the island. There is another, much smaller bathing beach called Platja de Portals Nous . To the southwest of Puerto Portals there is another small beach and next to it a large sports complex with seven tennis courts and other sports facilities.
traffic
The MA-1 motorway from Andratx to Palma was completed in March 2007 . This leads past the place, so that there is a fast connection to the island's capital. The center of Palma is around 12 kilometers and the center of Andratx around 20 kilometers away.
Personalities
- Portals Nous was the retirement home of the German environmental and landscape artist Herman Prigann, who died there in 2008 .
