portion

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Portion ( double. Portionwise , lat. Portio metered amount v. Part part) denotes a measured part . In doing so, reference is often made to a specific claim or need . It is often used in connection with food (“double portion”).

There is no food law definition for the term. It is therefore often used differently in nutritional information and is poorly suited as a comparison criterion.

Ecclesiastical incomes were also referred to as outdated ("Portio canonica", "Portio congrua").
