The Buchwaldskopf is 492 m above sea level. NHN high southern foothills of the Nickel mountain ( 512.5 m ) in the Taunus near Oberjosbach in the Hessian Rheingau-Taunus district .

The Buchwaldskopf rises in the Eichelberger Mark as part of the Taunus main ridge . In the Rhein-Taunus Nature Park, it is located in the district of Oberjosbach, which is located on the south-east flank of the Josbach , in the Niedernhausen community , whose core town extends to the south-west flank of the elevation.

The Buchwaldskopf belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Taunus (No. 30) and in the main unit Hoher Taunus (301) to the subunit Feldberg-Taunuskamm (301.3).
