Porto Formoso ("Beautiful Harbor") is a Portuguese municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Ribeira Grande district in the Azores . It has 1265 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
The place has a fishing port. Above the village is the Chá do Porto Formoso tea factory , which was reopened with the help of EU funds in 2000 and produces black tea on 6 hectares.
