Port Salon
Portsalon ( Irish Port an tSalainn ) is a town in the town of Croaghross (Irish Creamhros ) in County Donegal in the far north of Ireland and the Republic of Ireland .
Portsalon is located on the western bank of the Lough Swilly inlet on the Fanad Peninsula in the far north of County Donegal, opposite the Inishowen Peninsula east of Lough Swilly. As to the administrative division, Portsalon is part of Donegal North East . The closest locations are Milford and Rathmullan .
Portsalon has developed into a popular seaside resort since the second half of the 20th century, not least because the beach south of Portsalon is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. As a result, a number of holiday homes were built in the region.
