The Portuguese cannon

The Portuguese cannon (English. Portuguese Cannon ) is a monument on Calton Hill in the Scottish Edinburgh . The brass cannon was donated to the City of Edinburgh in 1886 and exhibited at the International Exhibition of Science, Art and Industry . After the end of the fair, it was moved to its current location in 1887. The cannon, which bears a Spanish coat of arms, was probably cast in the early 15th century. It came to the Portuguese colonies and Southeast Asia before 1785 , where it came into the possession of the King of Arkan, the ruler of a small state on the west coast of today's Burma . After the invasion in 1885 , the cannon came into British possession.
