Career

Wearing was active in the Gold Coast Premier League for Magic United , Coomera Colts SC and most recently Musgrave when he accepted an offer in 2009 to play for the Gold Coast United youth team in the National Youth League . Previously, he had represented Queensland at the school level and was also a member of the Gold Coast local selection team . With the youth team under coach Mike Mulvey , Wearing won the championship in the National Youth League as a regular in 2010 and 2011. The breakthrough Wearings in the A-League predicted by Mulvey did not materialize, however.

His only commitment to Gold Coasts professional team in the A-League came Wearing November 28, 2009, when he at a 0: 4 defeat against reigning champions Melbourne Victory because of several injury-related absences in central defense alongside Michael Thwaite in the starting grid stood and played through. Despite the clear defeat, Wearing received extra praise from coach Miron Bleiberg after the game . After the 2010/11 season he played during the season break on loan in the Victorian Premier League for Heidelberg United , but no longer appeared in the squad lists of Gold Coast United for the 2011/12 season.

In addition to his footballing career, Wearing studied international business at Griffith University .
