Miron Bleiberg (born February 9, 1955 in Haifa ) is an Israeli - Australian football coach .

life and career

After Bleiberg first grew up in Israel, lived and coached the Hapoel Kiryat Haim football club there , he moved to Australia in the 1980s and began coaching various football clubs there. Between 1982 and 2002 he trained the Melbourne Knights , Heidelberg United and the Brisbane Lions, among others . In 2002 he took over the Queensland Lions and two years later the Queensland Roar (later Brisbane Roar). In 2009 he moved to the newly founded A-League club Gold Coast United . He made his debut at the coaching bench there on August 8, 2009 in a 3-1 win over Brisbane Roar . After he initially achieved very good results on the Gold Coast and even reached third place in the table in his first season, he fell out more and more with the owner Clive Palmer towards the end of his tenure . The strained relationship with Palmer led to Bleiberg's dismissal in 2012. He was replaced by his previous assistant coach Mike Mulvey . Since 2013 he has coached the Oakleigh Cannons , a football club from the Victorian Premier League .
