Clive Frederick Palmer (born March 26, 1954 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian businessman and billionaire in the mining industry.

Life

Palmer started out as a real estate agent on the Gold Coast . He is the owner of the mining company Mineralogy Pty Ltd. which holds the licenses for the exploitation of the world's largest iron ore deposits in the Pilbara Ranges in Western Australia and also, for example, coal deposits. In his mining activities he works with (state) Chinese companies. He took over Waratah Coal in 2008 and Queensland Nickel in 2009.
