Michael Errol Thwaite (born May 2, 1983 in Cairns ) is an Australian football player who is currently under contract with Liaoning Hongyun .

Career

society

He began his career in 2002 with the amateur club of the University of Sydney in the New South Wales Winter Super League and shortly afterwards moved to the Marconi Stallions in the National Soccer League .

He then played two seasons each for the Romanian first division club FC Progresul Bucharest and the Polish first division club Wisła Kraków , where he reached the final of the national cup competition, but did not win. On January 28, 2008 he signed a contract with the Norwegian first division club Brann Bergen . There he came only to two missions before he was loaned to Melbourne Victory on June 19, 2008 .

For the 2009/10 season he moved to Gold Coast United , where he scored the first goal of his professional career on February 1, 2011 against his former club Melbourne Victory. With Gold Coast United's license revoked at the end of the 2011/12 season , Thwaite moved to Perth Glory in mid-2012 .

National team

From 2002 to 2004 Thwaite was part of the Australian U-20 national team and took part with her in the 2003 Junior World Cup in the United Arab Emirates , where they reached the quarter-finals. He made his debut for the Australian national soccer team on October 9, 2005 in a 5-0 win in a friendly against Jamaica .
