The Poseidon Pond is a 300 m long lake in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located in the Thomas Valley in the eastern part of the Olympus Range .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 1998 after Poseidon , the god of the sea from Greek mythology .
