The Possession Rocks are two 160 m high ledges on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . They loom just north of the Northcliffe Glacier .
They discovered a sleigh team led by Frank Wild on the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911–1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . They are named after the declared occupation of this area by Mawson on behalf of the United Kingdom in December 1912.
