The post office is a monument in the town of Velten in the Oberhavel district in the state of Brandenburg .

Architecture and history

The two-story post office, built in 1931, is directly opposite the train station . The side wings in Bahnstrasse 34 and Poststrasse 1 are single-story. The post office is massive and has a plastered facade. The main building has a hipped roof , the side wings a monopitch roof . The ceramic reliefs at the two main entrances show the year 1931, as well as the work areas of the post, such as mail delivery, bus traffic, telecommunications and telegraph offices. The courtyard paving still belongs to the listed ensemble. Today the building only serves as a mail distribution center.
