location

Architecture and history
The two-story building was built in 1894 as an imperial post office. It replaced a post office that had previously been on the corner of Marktstrasse and Schulstrasse. The facade consists of red clinker bricks and is decorated with restraint. There is a console frieze and a colored brick frieze.
Until December 31, 2011, the name of Otto-Franke-Straße was Bahnhofstraße, so that the address of the property was Bahnhofstraße 42. It is no longer used as a post office. Currently (as of 2014) the building is used by a branch of the Ostharzer Volksbank .
