Poul Winsløw (* 1951 ) is a Danish pipe maker . He is one of the most important pipe makers of his time.

Life

Winsløw initially completed an apprenticeship as a chemigrapher , but was already an apprentice at the famous pipe maker Preben Holm at the age of 17. He recognized Winsløw's talent early on and allowed the adolescents to realize their own ideas. Winsløw later rose to become production manager, before Holm had to close his factory in 1985 for health reasons.

Winsløw chose to go self-employed and opened his own workshop in Hvidovre , which is still in operation today. As a freelancer for the Stanwell company, Winsløw became a public attraction at pipe fairs by producing unusual pipes live and thus building up an independent reputation.

The creations by Poul Winsløw are characterized by style breaks and numerous innovations in unusual designs. For many pipe smokers, they are status symbols in price categories of several thousand euros. Every year around 7000 pipes leave the company, some of which are still unique from the workshop master.
