Poulton-le-Sands

Coordinates: 54 ° 4 ′  N , 2 ° 51 ′  W Poulton-le-Sands is one of three villages that formed the village of Morecambe on Morecambe Bay in Lancashire in1889. Poulton is mentioned in the Domesday Book . In the 19th century the place was given the addition "le-Sands" to differentiate it from another Poulton near Blackpool , which is now called Poulton-le-Fylde .

The British geologist and paleontologist John Edward Marr was born in the place in 1857.
