Power Pack were an Austrian music project by Erwin Kiennast and Norman Weichselbaum . They became known in 1992 with the birthday song .
Band history
Kiennast and Weichselbaum founded the production company Operator in 1992 and in the same year they produced a birthday song for the radio station Ö3 for the 25th anniversary. It was released under the band name Power Pack . As the birthday song was played frequently on the radio, it became very popular and was number 1 on the Austrian charts for 7 weeks in autumn this year . The single went platinum .
The duo built on the success and released more singles and in 1994 also an album, with which they reached further chart positions. But they could not reach the success of the first single and could not establish themselves permanently, so that the project was abandoned again in the mid-1990s.
